Yes, but that's the point - heavy lifting it may be, but that's all it is - just doing what we already know how to do only a lot more of it. Crucially it's not things we don't know how to do or cannot be done, like FTL, wormholes, etc.
 
I can imagine in the future that scientists will be able to alter our molecular structure and possibly remove the things that enable us to live on earth with gravity, possibly removing our skeleton and replacing it with muscles that allow us to cope with weightless environments better? It may sound a bit far fetched now but who knows what will be possible in the next 50 years.

I've never invoked anything wild to send a crewed mission to Mars.

Just said that the scale and expense of the challenge makes it extremely unlikely in my lifetime (max. 50 more years).
