You would never guess that this was the stones.

The Stones' second single was a song given to them by the Beatles: 'I Wanna Be Your Man'. 1963. It rocked, and with a wild slide guitar solo by Brian Jones it outshone the Beatles' own version. It wasn't a massive hit, but reached a higher chart position than their first single...

Continuing the Stones theme... the b-side of the second single was the self-penned 'Stoned', a great example of 60s London R&B. At this time they had a residency at the Crawdaddy club, based in the Railway Hotel in Richmond, and were growing too big for it...

For reasons I won't discuss, 'our song' (mrs fillys and mine) is 'December 63 Oh what a night' by the Four Seasons. Many years later I kept hearing a song that was being sampled into other songs, turned out to be 'Beggin' by the Four Seasons', I hadn't realised till 10 years ago how much great stuff they wrote.

We went to see the Jersey Boys at the theatre which was the story of the four seasons, a brilliant show and superb music. One of my favorite bands.
