England council results

A new Reform councillor has just been making a complete fool of himself on a local TV channel politics program. He's going to cut parking charges, cut council tax, whilst at the same time spending much more on local services.

Maybe he's not gonna pocket half of the income, so they'll be enough to do this.

I really don't want to live here if Farage in Prime Minister.
It isn't going to be any worse than it is now, it cannot possibly get any worse. I am willing to take a chance on him as he might just do what he says. If he doesnt then it will be conservative again.

When parties promise to slash revenue (taxes and fees) while also expanding services, they are relying on the assumption that extreme reductions in bureaucratic "waste" will cover the difference. However, audits of councils nationwide highlight the realities of governing

The Reality of "Cutting Waste": In practice, identifying enough internal waste to fund both lower taxes and more services is virtually non-existent. "Waste reduction" frequently translates to scaled-back services, paused regeneration projects, or fewer library hours

National and Local Precedent: In areas where Reform UK has taken control of councils, the reality of local authority finance has forced them to either raise council tax (often to the maximum permitted by central government) or make difficult cuts to services

The Bexley Context: The London Borough of Bexley currently faces severe budget gaps driven by rising inflation and statutory demands for adult and children's social care. To balance the books without compromising critical hardship and care funds, the council has had to maintain its council tax precepts rather than decrease them

There have been numerous written pledges and claims that Reform will cut Council Tax, many of them on Reform leaflets alongside Farage.
But Farage denies this is/was a Reform policy.

Farage interpreted this to mean "lower increases" in Council Tax.

In fact:

Nobody cares about the other stuff, he has one main job to do and if he does that then I couldnt care less about the stuff you worry over.

The water supply

Yes exactly they could put some type of happy drug into the water supply

The country could than get bombed out of there heads / happy

Mind you any one voting green is probably already bombed out of there heads

The British electorate have a habit of voting against their own interests, largely because they are lied to by people like Farage and Johnson. Brexit is a fine example.
Maybe a good thing Reform get a landslide in the local elections rather than in a general election, how they perform in local government will be an indication of they will perform in a national government.
They will have to start delivering on their promises, Reform seems to be a party of ex Labour and ex Tories united by the anti immigration issue but are diametrically opposed to each other on other issues.
That's when the cracks will start to appear.

If he does what he says he's going to do then I definitely will be moving abroad.

So if the NHS is ruined or gone, public services are ruined, more councils are broke, and the economy is being pilfered by Farage's rich donors, none off that matters as long as the foreigners are kicked out?
