England council results

I was listening to lefty radio (LBC) yesterday and they were re-coining the phrase "its the economy, stupid" to "its the socialism, stupid".

The electorate aren't keen on their policies.
I listen to LBC a lot and apart from about 3 presenters it is completely left wing. James o bryan sounds exactly the way the lefties on here speak its like they have been brain washed or go to some sort of lefty school of how to twist and spin things. I remember when Farage was a presenter for a short while and when he left Obrian said -- "WE have got our radio station back" ----- says all you need to know.

A top Labour bod on the telly box the other night said along the lines of 'Labour always struggles to get elected ...' then went on to say why it's important they get things right blah etc blah.

I kind of thought to myself on current performance, is it any wonder (that Labour struggle to get elected).
Starmmer suffers from the cult of personality that dogs uk politics. He’s a bit dull, the economy is tanking so it must be his fault. So let’s hand the reins to someone who’s more charismatic, and give them a go. It’s a toss up as to whose more stupid.

I agree with you on that, cyclical sh1t show. And no, I don't think it'll be any better if Reform get in, however I think some are thinking 'I'll give them a go, can they be any worse?!?'

I've said before, a party gets voted in on their manifesto. Well, that's the theory anyway. Each manifesto promise should have a number of landmark dates e.g. quarterly and across the governing term. Each date should have a deliverable against it. e.g.:

Term of Government: 5 years.
Manifesto promise: to build 500,000 new affordable homes across the 5 years.
Quarterly deliverable: 25,000 homes built.

There should be a publicly available webpage (easy to access, not buried on the .gov website) that has each manifesto pledge listed with the quarterly deliverable performance.

At least that would give the public a basic overview re how effectively government is delivering on its promises as each quarter passes.

I appreciate there are nuances within, nothing's black and white, however the things government might actually be delivering on are lost in the dramatic media noise.

I seem to recall you expressing the same well he can’t be any worse enthusiasm for Trumpf v2. Yes they can and will be worse for the country. Running a ministry requires more than soundbites and X.

Not saying I didn't.

No idea what the maps for  back to what you posted, your piechart showed Reform on 8% of all available seats, when the true figure is much higher around 15% , and they reached that amount in just over one year, after next years elections they could well be above Labour in total seats(y)
Read the writing in underneath the pie chart.

OBVIOUS propaganda. Either you haven't worked this out, or know it's nonsense but still posted it anyway.

Of course they're still staying in power if they haven't answered to the electorate. But those voted in now are the way things are heading.

In addition, many councils only had a proportion of their councillors re-elected last week. Those who stood for election by the red or blue parties were mostly wiped out, but these parties got to retain their majority due to the seats that didn't have elections.

The election outcome last week is a fair reflection of current and future sentiment. Those who were voted in years ago are irrelevant.

Reform got 27% of the vote. They'll need to do a lot better than that to get majority in government.
