Recently refurbished bathroom in a rental (4 tenants, 1 shower room). Tenants report water escaping around the 700mm screen.
Contractor recommends a hinged return to fix the splashing. Alternatively, a fixed return with an 800mm screen but he still thinks the hinged option will contain water better.
My concern: it's a high traffic rental and I'd prefer a "one and done" fix. A hinged return is a moving part, so presumably more wear and repairs over time vs. a fixed panel.
Trade off: durability of fixed vs. better splash control of hinged. What would you go for?
