Leapmotor

You will also find insurance may be harder to get, they have'nt got the support network, so parts/software etc have to come from China, and that pushes up the costs to insurers.
don't think they like insuring EV's my last van was £140 per year, my new EV van £460

cheap to fuel may be, but probably 2,400 mile (6 month) before I get the extra insurance money back

love driving it though...

Is the higher insurance costs because of the higher price of the vehicles and higher repair costs?

and the danger of them suddenly bursting into flames and burning down entire cities

doesnt matter what the reason is they cost a fortune to insure - buy an EV and you will be a lot poorer

Yes, but that was decades ago & in these days of new cars being designed to fail I suspect the Chinese are probably at the forefront.
I personally know two people who drive MG EV company cars that have failed spectacularly in less than 3 years from new.
Have you also seen the YT videos on at least two high mileage MGs?

One was a taxi with 300 odd thousand on the clock.

We are soon to return our MG4 which is on a 3 year lease, and has done in excess of 30,000 fault-free miles.

Leapmotor and MG both have an 8 year/ 100,000 mile battery warranty, guaranteeing a minimum of 70% (80% for Leapmotor) SoH.

What ****ty pro-oil industry papers have you been reading?

Take a proper look at the genuine stats.

Hybrids are far more likely to go up in smoke than EVs.

that seems to be quite standard, my toyota van has the 8 years 100,000 on the battery and 10 years on the rest of it

probably burst into flames long before that though

So the Viva and the Marina weren’t designed to fail?

I don't think they were, they probably hoped they would miraculously last along time. Nowadays, i think some products are purposefully made so as they only last as long as the warranty

Substitute 'some products' for all & you're on the money.
Cars, white goods, electrical goods ..

Isn’t just that they are highly complex pieces of engineering that haven’t been properly tested because of commercial pressures to get new models out?

Im needing to buy a new van. I keep putting it off and off.

My roast is

Is what to go for:
New Diesel, are they any good and last 10 years?

How long has Diesel vans got before they are not allowed on the roads

New Electric: Have they mastered these now they seem to be dropping in value all the time.

Second hand Electric or Diesel. I need something that will last.
