The price of Xenophobia

its beyond ridiculous to claim this is why millions of people voted leave.

Underestimate the stoopidity of Brexers at your peril.

So these translate into Xenophobia and racism? You daft brush
So your motive was purely tax avoidance.
OK.

I was able to buy a new boat without paying VAT. Saved well over 100k. Without it I would have probably paid French VAT based on its value after 5 years.
I wonder how many others were so well placed and aware that they also voted for Brexit, for the same reason.
Of course they would also have been aware of the forthcoming visa restrictions.
Next time I see my ex-yachting friends I'll run your scenario past them, to see if it stacks up.
Let me just clarify one thing, the boat you bought cost well over £500,000? Is that right? Which you paid no VAT on? Is that right?

A donation to the Reform party will do nicely.
I think ellal was referring to a benefit to UK as a whole UK, not to one individual.

seems thats you:

I just did
He didn't ask the pertinent question.
Strangely enough many a research has come up with the same conclusion...
"The two main reasons people voted Leave were ‘immigration’ and ‘sovereignty’, whereas the main reason people voted Remain was ‘the economy'...

No doubt you'll fill up the next few pages trying to disprove the undeniable facts...
Failing to address the relevant points.

OK.
The exam question was to find one single Brexit benefit. Not justify the why anyone voted leave or remain.

I could have gone with the early covid Vaccine, but he's a bit sensitive about that.

here is a high level guide, don't expect anyone to give you a detailed step by step or any more detail from me. This is a specialty for which experts rightly charge a fee for their knowhow. A quick search of any used boats for sale site will show plenty of VAT not paid boats for sale.

It was obviously a question about a benefit to UK as a whole, not to one person who wanted to avoid paying VAT.

Well try it, let's see how you go.
Here's my initial contribution:
It was under EU rules that UK approved the Covid vaccine.

He hasn't provided any references to back up the claim.

here we go again
You presented your source to prove your claim.
In your presented source the relevant question was not asked. therefore it was irrelevant.

Ellal did present evidence that given the right question was asked the result was as how ellal explained.

Yep, and not a single benefit to the UK has been pointed out by a single brexiteer...

They've only had a decade to think one up, but nope they're still scratching their collective head

And not a word about the hit that the economy has taken...

Or the devalued currency...

One would think that brexiteers would be praising these 'achievements' don't you think ;)

feel free to provide another source and show why it is better than the Ashcroft one.

The Ashcroft one did not address the motivation of racism or xenophobia, so it's a useless poll.
What is needed is a study or poll showing the motivation of racism or xenophobia on the voting for Brexit.
Ellal has presented the results of such a study.

there was no link to a source in post 16 to back up the claim made. You and Ellal imagined it.. again.

Sorry, I didn't see your edit,
So you reckon a complication of VAT regulations is a benefit?
VAT regulations has become significantly more complex since Brexit.
from your source.
And a loss of VAT to UK is a benefit to UK?

Are you lost? Or just misunderstanding, the definitiion of a "benefit"?
