The price of Xenophobia

A personal opportunity at tax avoidance by you. Not a benefit to UK. In fact it was a loss of tax for UK, so not a benefit.
A reminder of the exam question.. again
So how about you stun us all and come up with a single tangible benefit of brexit...

Bet you can't ;)
Sory, I didn't see your edit,
So you reckon a complication of VAT regulations is a benefit?

from your source.
And a loss of VAT to UK is a benefit to UK?

Are you lost? Or just misunderstanding, the definitiion of a "benefit"?
1000s of people have done it, The VAT was always lost to the UK - but at least a UK broker paid income tax and NI for their work. Plenty of EU states have been offering special VAT scenarios for years. The one I bought before was done under a French buy to rent scheme.

Good luck finding anyone dumb enough to publish a how to

So you see the greater complexity of VAT regulations as a Brexit benefit. Some benefit. It doesn't only apply to boat purchases though, it makes more all VAT on all purchases more complex. I don't see that as a benefit to individuals, except those changing career to become VAT specialists.
And you see the immense loss of VAT to UK as a Brexit benefit? Some benefit! That loss of tax will need to be made up from somewhere.

As an EU member, the VAT would never have been paid in the UK.

but the claim was ...

It wasn't, this is imaginary and even himmy can't deflect and spin out of this one.
It looks very clear to me:
namely that the two main reasons people voted Leave were ‘sovereignty’ and ‘immigration
Sovereignty to limit immigration. Which didn't work anyway.
And xenophobia to hate those that do come. Which has notably increased since Brexit, which you think is a benefit.

As always, in denial...

How's it going with finding a single benefit to the UK from brexit?

Hint: Don't waste your time looking, there are none ;)
made a bet, wont pay the bet. :ROFLMAO: ;)

careful you'll break a leg making a jump that big.

It's all in the Ashcroft survey and since there was no "why" box on the referendum, its as close as anyone will get.

Quite cheap actually

I'm here all week folks.... :p

As an EU member, the VAT would never have been paid in the UK.
So you bought the boat in France, and paid no VAT?
Are you using the Temporary relief, which means exiting EU waters every 18 months to avoid paying VAT?
Are you bringing it to UK, or taking it elsewhere?
Bringing it in to UK waters could make you liable to UK VAT on the purchase.

The Ashcroft survey did not address the motivation of sovereignty or xenophobia, as you admit. So it's an irrelevance.
You're now going round in circles.

you are getting confused and I am not going to educate you.

It clearly did. that was the point of it.
The same as ellal's presentation then.
Nearly half (49%) of leave voters said the biggest single reason for wanting to leave the EU was “the principle that decisions about the UK should be taken in the UK”.
i.e sovereignty.
One third (33%) said the main reason was that leaving “offered the best chance for the UK to regain control over immigration and its own borders.
i.e. immigration control = xenophobia.

Glad we got there in the end.
