My whippet.

Never been to Korea. But I suspect I may have eaten dog or worse in places like Thailand , Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh. Hong Kong Sri Lanka at a stretch maybe.
Where I used to live the Chineese restaurant had a big strong Alsatian standing guard on a step behind the counter during opening hours. It disappeared suddenly after about six months and the chicken chop suey tasted different for a few weeks

A friend has a rescue whippet, it’s a hyperactive neurotic pain, never settles.
They aren’t an easy breed to own for sure.

Quite dramatic.
When it’s raining they pretend to be injured to get out of a walk.
When they are too tired they go nuts like a demon possessed toddler.
They are fast as f**, fastest acceleration of all, fastest for their size and arguably 2nd or 3rd fastest overall.

They don’t much like swimming or water.

I know a few people with whippets, nice enough dogs but I don't think I've seen them do anything other than sleep on the sofa. Oddly one of the owners also has 2 collies which are at the opposite end of the scale and usually walk 8-10 miles a day.
Am I right in saying Dec27 has a handsome looking red Lab?

My dad had greyhounds and whippets.
Greyhounds are very nice dogs, very docile with humans but also very delicate with their health as others suggested.
Whippets are one of my favourite breed.
When I was a teenager my dad had a few and at the time there weren't many around.
Funny dogs, they love people with all their heart and they're very territorial.

True, my dad took an abandoned collie in and it was hard work, wanted to be in the open all the time.
He gave it to a farmer and it lived happily until he was 19 years old.

I watched some youtube videos on whippets and there is one in particular that made me smile, the owner describes the whippet as dramatic and when adopting one, you are not applying for a dog, you are applying for a job. I will post a link on here to it as the owner is so amusing with her narative.

Peter (The cat) Bonetti was 14 when we got these two boisterous puppies. He took to them so well. Daisy absolutely adored Peter.
