No it wasn't. The temperature change you referenced was a local change only seen in one of a half dozen data sets, not a global change and it is explained by a massive adjustment of ocean currents. That's not happening now.

Nor is it quite relevant to this thread, that's global climate change, this is mostly about the unprecedented weather. We've never had this hot a may since electricity was invented.
