Abnormally high UK temperatures continue

So today was the hottest day ever recorded, how many dead?

We don't know yet.

But when we do (if daily figures are announced, and not just totals over a longer period) you'll say that they are lies, just like you are saying the figures for previous years are lies.

You are easily fooled and hoodwinked. Look around you, how many do you know (fit and healthy) have died today because of the sun?

People with a weak immune system or fataly ill would die regardless, they are your only statistics, plus people who drown who go swimming. You cant blame the weather and heat for those.

We can look at stats from the summer of 2025...

"There were 1,504 heat-associated deaths observed during 5 heat episodes"

And I don't believe any of those were 'red warnings'

Highway Man thinks that figure is a lie. He thinks those 1504 people would have died anyway.

He won't listen.

People with a weak immune system or fataly ill would die regardless,

Not all of them. In fact the chances are that heat-related deaths are under recorded, because some of the deaths were of people who were already ill or frail but who would not have died had there not been a heatwave.

But you don't want to know. You think it's all lies.

Of course you can, if an analysis of deaths for a period of extreme temperatures shows that there were more than the equivalent period in other years without temperature extremes.

Go - tell me that you don't believe statistical analysis because you don't understand it.

I would want to see the medical records of anyone that died through the heat, only then can you safely quote deaths due to the heat rather than simply a contributing factor. If what you are saying was correct, then all holiday makers would be dropping like flies.

You'll never get that, and why should you?

only then can you safely quote deaths due to the heat rather than simply a contributing factor.

No - not only then. You can also believe what you are told by experts who have seen them.

But just as with climate change, because you don't understand it and you don't want it to be true you are dismissing it all as lies.

If what you are saying was correct, then all holiday makers would be dropping like flies.

Some holidaymakers do. Not in large numbers, of course, because they tend not to be old/ill/infirm.

I gave you facts.

Here and here.

But you either don't understand why people die if it gets too hot for them, or you don't like it that they do, so you deny the facts.
What you are failing to understand is that someone dying in the heat does not necessaraly mean they have died through the heat.
