Tidying the edge of a path that is looking a bit rough

I would like to finish off the edge of a path that was laid by my builder and is looking a bit rough.

The terracotta tiles are 22mm thick and laid on a concrete base. Would it be possible or sensible to cut the end of the path tiles at 45 degrees, and to use leftover tiles also cut at 45 degrees to set them on the end to cover the ugly concrete bit in the pic?

Or maybe there is a better way?

The 45/mitre thing will be a bit tricky, but you wouldn’t need to cut the existing, just chamfer the small cuts enough so it sits right. Or for an easier option I’d just use cut pieces of the same tiles to return the vertical face down to the ground, but you lose the colour pattern then…
