Electric towel rail off of mains power sockets

Can I install an electric towel rail (in zone 3) with its own timer and controls, and feed it off a mains sockets spur from an adjacent room (drill a hole through the wall, pull a cable from a near by mains socket)?

That means the heated rail will always be "live" (like a mains socket) and will be controllable from its own controls (eg timer, schedule, temp control).

I could also fit an isolator next to the donor mains socket.

It is allowed but not a diy job as far as I know and is notifiable which makes getting a reg. electrician to do it the easiest way.
 
I think that anywhere in a bathroom was notifiable ref Part P.

England and Wales have similar requirements (but not exactly the same) under Part P by the way. Scotland and Northern Ireland have different laws and rules in some respect too .

There is no zone 3
"Outside of zones" I meant. I have seen "zone 3" mentioned here and there though.
What do the towel radiator’s instructions say?
I have not checked to be honest. I know they are very low wattage, usually 250W-300W, about an ampere, the one I will get will probably be 300W. I can even fit one that only requires "on/off", and does its own thing.
 
You can have a switched FCU in a bathroom.

Somebody will kindly post an accurate, up to date Zones diagram.

You can usually recognise the inaccurate ones because they wrongly suggest zones apply to wall lights and washbasins. They don"t. Only baths and showers.

Are you sure that’s a good idea? Personally I’d have the controller higher up the wall and the FCU in the adjacent room. If you are using the under floor sensor maybe you should have the controller in the adjacent room too

One of the most stopped stupid installations I fault found was where the installer put the controller outside the room, and was using the air temp to control the room - so that the element never turned off, ruined the new floor and cost a lot to run
