Not this morning but I now have another problem which may or may not be connected. I am using approx 25 litres of water per hour between the street stopcock/water meter and my internal stopcock and I haven’t got a clue where to start! Could be under my drive, could be under my floorboards. My insurance company are being all cùnty about it saying indoors covered, outside not. Do you know if those water leak tracing companies are any good?
Most probably worth tuppence hapenny. Lots of the calls I get is from people who have insurance but struggle to get them out and get the job done.

I couldn't and wouldn't give names. More so with emergency call outs. They say 4 hours and then sometimes have then said it would be tomorrow. Thsts emergencies with uncontrolled water spilling out.
) she just fitted a new meter and said she’d changed the non return valve. I've just phoned them up to ask them to double check their work before I went any further as I hadn’t notice any water loss before the meter change, I was told that I am down to have a new street box fitted but they are snowed under at the moment with big leaks and she said for me to do nothing until they’ve done their bit. She said as long as it’s not leaking in the house, don't worry! Easy for her to say that.
Went out to do a shop in Sainsburys today and if I can, I always try to get an end parking bay so that I can park as far as I can to the left so that I don’t hit any car with my door when getting out and they don’t hit mine with theirs getting in. I also park far away from the entrance as it’s less crowded. Anyway, I was faffing about getting as far as I could to the left in the bay and I even got out to check I wasn’t over the line. All okay so off I went. Got into Sainsbury’s and because Mrs Mottie has coeliac disease and can’t have gluten, I have to check the ingredients on things. Sometimes the writing is so small I have to use my phone camera on zoom to check the writing. Was looking at some stir-fry sauce and when I got my phone out, I had a message from the car saying it was still running!

Shiiit! I had to leg it back to the car to switch it off and lock it. I wondered why it made a different 'beep' when I pressed the lock button on the remote as I was walking away. Now I know - it was telling me I was a Cupid stunt.
Slight glimmer of hope. I ran into a near neighbour (who lives in one of the closes off of our road) at the supermarket this morning who knew about my noise problem and he asked how I was getting on with my noise. I told him I could now hear water running through the new meter and it was showing water use with everything off in the house. He said his daughter who lives 2 doors down from me had the same problem regarding leakage and it turned out to be her street box that was the problem and also his neighbour had the same problem. Again, it was the street box. Fingers crossed!They told me on Monday that they would be fitting a new street box. When the stroppy 'femgineer' (not my words, someone else on here!) turned up she said she wasn’t replacing the street box as that’s a big job, (a man’s job?
Are you sure? That would be dangerous so I can’t imagine any keyless car ever doing that. Think about it, you start the car, go back indoors because you’ve forgotten something, inadvertently put the fob down, come out, jump in the car and drive off. All of a sudden the engine switches off and the doors lock, the steering lock engages in the fast lane of the dual carriageway? The fob being out of range only prevents the car from starting - otherwise there wouldn’t be so many keyless car thefts. I remember when I road tested my Evoque before buying it, one salesman pulled it out of the showroom and different one accompanied me on the test drive. As we pulled out of the dealership, a warning came on the dash 'key not found'. The salesman said not to worry, the keys were still in the showroom and as long as we didn’t switch off, it’d be okay.
