Is any in line isolation valve allowed on heating pipework? Would be very useful for myself to avoid draining down the pipework.

You can hang rads on plasterboard using the correct fixings.

It depends on the size and type of rad.
Timber grounds are always preferred but not always feasible.

You wanna try hanging them on paramount partition board! That's fun! Lol.

Manufacturers instructions specify hang only on timber or masonry. Plasterboard hanging is a disaster waiting to happen.

Very true but the further from the MI's one strays the more meaningless the guarantee or assumed longevity of the pipework and fittings. That goes for copper too, e.g bad soldering on 20% of copper fittings.

I've never known anyone to make a warranty claim for a radiator once it's been fitted and working.

It's only the expensive one's off tinternet that are obscure, fancy and badly engineered, that fail as soon as you fill them up - then good luck with warranty on those.

Also, manufacturers nowdays are taking the same route as insurers... Find any way out of settling a claim!

Profitibility = Offer long warranties to attract punters and then void them for the slightest infringement of ridiculously overthetop installation instructions LAWS!

Shower pump manufacturers in particular have followed this model, then boilers, then other "luxury" items.
