'Layla' by Derek and the Dominoes. Eric Clapton's best known song until he re-invented himself with yuppie hair in the 80s. From his much romanticised junkie period, this song was huge throughout the 70s to the point where every rock fan got sick of it!

Yes remember well. It was a great hit that everyone loved. Then people started falling out of love for it.......it was almost like a Dominoe effect.

The subjects of the songs 'Layla' and 'Jennifer Juniper' were sisters: Patti Boyd (Layla) and Jenny Boyd. Both were models who married into rock royalty, Jenny to Mick Fleetwood and Patti to George Harrison - and later to Clapton. Patti was the subject of Clapton's 'Wonderful Tonight' song also.
