Thanks for the reply
@DP
Answering your last questions first, I wanted to run the cleaner through to give it a good clean as I’ve installed new radiators so wanted to clean the system of any flux, et cetera
The mag magnaclean doesn’t do this as I understand it, it is to get rid of the magnetite
Yes, I understand about the ladder analogy, but I just would’ve thought that filling the system six or times would’ve diluted it sufficiently considering the system has been run and circulated
Unlike I yes, I am aware of the horizontal pipes, hence why I had already planned that numerous flushes would be needed
I really don’t want to be taking the radiators off to take them outside
And regarding the plastic pipe, yes I am aware that this should be barrier protected but this was installed by the Builder and only when I got the floor up did I see that he had used this to get down to the radiator at the furthest point
The plastic pipe goes through the ceiling so I can’t get to it and if I could, I would absolutely be replacing it with copper so yes, I was annoyed once I saw it but I’m going back 15 years when the extension was built
The two plastic runs of pipe connect using HEP20 connectors and from the attached photo the paperwork shows the name Hepworth
From what I can see, it looks like Hepworth are now owned by Wavin so I’m hoping that would indicate that it was barrier protected so I have emailed their technical services the attached photo to see if they can determine whether it is or not
