Seen them live at The Colston Hall (Yes, named after the famous Bristol slave trader, Samuel Colston ) in Bristol some years ago. Great band.

I saw them at the Daphne Du Maurier festival of all places, tickets £10.
I knew the local journo who pursuaded them to take a walk down to the river (Fowey) to pose for photographs. He got a bit nervous walking back up the hill with them thinking 2 of them might not make it.

Beautiful, black-haired Laura Nyro (pronounced 'Nero'), from the Bronx, was a highly talented and unique musician. Her songs were intense, dramatic, unusual and very 'New York'. She didn't have any hit singles in her own right, but many covers of her songs were hits for others, including 'Wedding Bell Blues' and 'Stoned Soul Picnic'.

Here she is doing somebody else's song though, 'Up On The Roof'...
