Minimum gap for scaffolding?

Anyone know what width is needed for scaffolding to be installed. The distance to the boundary is about 1 meter. I think the apex of the roof is about 19ft high. Having stabilisers beyond the 1 meter boundary is not possible but I've heard the scaffold can be hooked into the new walls and removed when the scaffold comes down. Thanks.

Do you have any window openings on that elevation? It may be possible to support it via them.

For narrow gaps, a putlog scaffold is the best option as it does away with the inner stanchions. Whilst a meter is not generous, its a four boarder - adequate. It just means having to rake out a few narrow slots out of the mortar joints - about every 1.2m-ish, depending on the run size.

Do you mean on the upstairs? There's one on the middle of the run.

I agree. But be aware that some of their solutions may be less appealing (from your point of view) than others, e.g. drilling holes in the wall for anchors.

The don't usually use thunderbolts on domestic jobs. A putlog scaffold uses the mortar bed joint, so can be repaired scar free. Provided a gorilla hasn't chopped the joint out, that is.

Can the platform cantilever over the boundary at high level?

You won't necessarily need raking supports or putlogs.

You need to take account of any verge or soffit projection.

A 1m (four board) wide putlog scaffold is generous enough and hardly a big deal in terms install or strip down.
