I work for a kitchen manufacturing company in th uk. We are deciding on what wall attachment method we will use for our future wall cabinets. Its an upmarket brand using cabinet making techniques. - No Flat pack!!

I would really like to know your opinion on the 2 fixing methods;

-flat pack type adjutsable hook with a plate on the wall.
or
-a leveled baton on the wall onto which all cabinets are leveled and screwed directly into the wall.

Any other good methods. - I've seen french cleats.

thanks

b - because I can fit the wall units on my own plus you know the batten is dead level with the worktop

I prefer the hidden cabinet hangers. Allow for 3 way adjustment and are more discrete than the ones that fit infront of the back panel.

Screwing back to the wall is OK if the wall is perfectly plumb but thats not usually the case.

Masona why does it take more than one person to fit cabs with the adjustable brackets?

The problem I've found with the early adjustable brackets is if the drill hole hit the mortar air pocket or a weak wall is just make it hard work, I rest the wall units onto the batten with a temporary upright timber which I've made is adjustable then put all the next wall units up and bolt it together and then screw it back to the wall all in one goes knowing that the whole front of the wall units is flush and will override the uneven wall.

Why not give the option of both? + & - points given by masona and JB. You've no idea what the customers walls will be like so be prepared.

Thanks for your replies.

In my experience i think i prefer the adjustable clips method as its easier to do on your own. But i am very interested to hear what the pros prefer day in day out.

Either way requires the cabinets to be designed to suit, so i'd rather design to the best method. The clips are relatively expensive compared to the wood cost.

Do you think quality or Cheap and nasty when you see the clips used? End of the day i want to make the fitters life easier and provide the best solution.
