Someone pointed me recently to this quite handy 'snap' tool to create presice print screen (as jpeg, bitmap etc.) You can capture a whole screen, a specific window or even any specified rectangle
MWSnap

Comes in vary handy when you want to capture an image from a pdf file also.

Windows Vista has this built in already and is called the "snipping tool".
An alternative way is to press the "Prt Scrn" button. This copies the page to your clipboard, which can then be pasted almost anywhere.

That is usually I use. I also try Hypersnap somtimes.

I know how that works, but the snap tool works much more precise.

it states on the web page that MWsnap doesn't need installation on your pc then the download has an installer which says it will install it to your pc??

<Alt> <printscreen> copies current window.
Paste into the likes of MS Photo editor (comes with MS Office - up to 2000 at least - on the media)... Save full original pix (can resize with ease).
Use the crop tool to frame the part image you want, copy and paste as new image then save or do as you will.

Pressing ALT captures the active window only so you don't get the tool bar. A useful little free app is Gadwin Printscreen. Provides some additional functionality for the Print Screen button.

Ah I see now; using the ALT button removes the bottom taskbar. I've learnt something new today - not that it'll make a difference, but it certainly copies a little bit less. ;) Cheers.

Off topic but not too far.

Can do a bit with this - if you have it !
