am i right in thinking its just a case of using a foot pump to put pressure in and leave on test? any help appreciated

yes.

I pressurise the system up to 2 bar.

BUT, had a carbon deposit on a piece of 22mm tubing that washed away under hot water.

A lesson learned.

so is it better to hire a water testing kit then as its about the same price as buying me own air pressure test kit.. cheers

PPS how long u normally leave it on test, am thinking of linking the hot cold and heating pipes up to test all in one.
