Help!

should not be a problem providing theirs room to work on it.
a job like can be completed in an hour without draining down system.

This I want to see

yes it will only work short term.
any decent plumber should be able to cut the elbow out
any problems with water in the pipe use a wet/dry vac new section of pipe, elbow etc.

A change of plan then

You will never solder a pipe with water init, not even if you sit there all day.

who said anything about soldering with water in pipe ?
any decent plumber owns a wet/dry vac so no excuse for water to lay in pipe.

don't tell me you can't work on pipework without draining down system.
do you drain down every time you fit a new rad

no one ever had a change of plan.

what the f*c you on about now.
get your facts right and come up with some facts that proves ido or don't know them.
until then that you have any don't hind behind your computer slagging people off.

Sorry. Just want to help.

If it was a solder joint leaking, I just drain down, cut in pipe at both side of leaking joint, let it dry out, refit new joints, undo the connector on radiator valve near where pipe is to let steam vent, solder it up, reconnect valve, refilling system, vent rads. Done.

Or for me, I freeze the pipe at both end of pipe, cut in, fit comp fitting, leave to melt. 8)

Dan.

Any comment please?

why freeze the pipe when you can shut the rad valve and bung the system and cause a vac so you can then cut the pipe ?

could do that but I rather stop both end. It might not work if the system got a AAV on it. I rather not have a open end on a filled system. If a vac failed, water damage will result in a unhappy customer.

aav will let air out not in so not a problem.
freezing, draining take time, time is money.

Softus
