going to install pond electrics and have couple questions -

currently just starting to get my hands dirty
rcd protected circuit - fcu from ring to termination box outside - swa 450mm deep covered with sand and warning tape to termination box buried?

1. how do i connect the swa at pond end is there some sort of connection box that can be buried? and a termination box to mount at wall where cable leaves house.

jobs for a friend and we contacted council, inspector wants to see cable laid first... havent worked out distance think its about 10m and im cofident with the work even terminating the swa but not sure what to put them in

I'm not an electrician.

From my research I understand that if you connect your pond to a plug for use into a socket you don't need to notify via Building Control.
You obviously need some RCD protection to your setup whether you use an FCU or just connect it to a socket.
You would need a 3amp fuse or something in your plug if you connected it to a 13amp socket.
Either way make sure you have rcd protection.
What flex are you using to connect the SWA to the indoor FCU?

I am currently building a pond too.

just looked and the actual pump cable is long enough to run through side of house with plug on is this acceptable?
