Do you need a passport for a baby of 2 months to travel to Northen Ireland in the next few weeks or will a birth certificate suffice ?

Cannot get a straight answer from anywhere, thanks

It depends whether it is travelling with a parent or alone.

you dont need a passprt to got NI, so a birth certificate will suffice as the baby more than likely wont have a driving licence

what the government want and what the airlines want are 2 seperate questions

if you are flying ask the airline as they deal wirh these questions all the time!!!

cheers bh, just trying to say, i thought it would be on the web, maybe under, Questions &Answers. thought maybe someone on here knows someone who has done this lately, she thought ferry would be simpler.

Never mentioned her intended method of travel, because i was hoping for the simplest solution.

And, i still cannot answer her question 100%

edit always thought you could get "ow't on net!

Seeing as this is a DIY forum and not a travel forum, I cant think why you
were so sure of getting a straight answer here :D

We could always say, yes you do. Then when you get there, if you dont actually need it no problem & if you do then your prepared.

Have you tried the customs websites?
Failing that, yes a simple phone call should suffice.
