I've taken out the old gas fire in my lounge and I'm going to brick up the hole. Is it necessary to put in an air vent, and if so, what size? It's in a ground floor room of a 2 storey terraced house.

Thanks gasafengineer. I was considering cutting a small section out of the pipe just below one of the valves to give me some slack and repairing it with a straight compression joint. Does this sound OTT?

I'm running a new mdpe water pipe accross the garden (to replace old lead pipe) and I need to duct it under a waste pipe. I believe I should seal the ends of the duct pipe, but with what? Does it matter which sealant I use? Are some sealants incompatible wth mdpe? Thanks

So can I simply pass the 25mm MDPE through another pipe of slightly greatler diameter? Do I need to seal the ends with anything?

I'm laying a new MDPE service pipe to replace the old lead one, and I have no choice but to pass it under a sewer pipe. I see from the regs that it has to be ducted for 1m either side. What form dose the ducting have to take? Can I simply pass the mdpe through a slightly large pipe? Thanks ACDC

Its windows 98 with a 1.25MHz processor. The graphics card is a 64 MB NVIDIA. Ive just re formatted to get rid of lots of junk/spyware etc. When reloading the operating system it didn't ask for the video card cd. On the device manager, under Display adapters, it says Standard PCI Graphics...

I only get the option of 2 or 16 colour setings. What do I need to do to get 256 colours, or 16 or 8 bit colours? Thanks
