Buying Tiles at a Chain Store vs a non-Chain Store

I actually have not done this. I have emailed him on several things, but he never fully answers my questions. We had agreed that I get the tiles and he would put them up whilst doing all the bother bathroom installation work, etc. Perhaps I will ask him. Thanks for the suggestion.

Buying Tiles at a Chain Store vs a non-Chain Store

Thanks for all your comments. I think we will be looking at small independent shops. I just hate the big chains.

Buying Tiles at a Chain Store vs a non-Chain Store

Would rather see what I am getting in a store, than either going to Ebay or online. But thanks for the suggestion, just the same.

Buying Tiles at a Chain Store vs a non-Chain Store

We are having our bathroom modernised and the guy is putting up new wall tiles However, we have to choose these tiles ourselves and we know nothing about buying tiles, which I presume would have to be ceramic. I know that there are chain stores like B & Q, Topps Tiles and Homebase but also...

    Plastering/Skiming or Plaster Board Covering

Thanks. I am getting more concerned about this fellow. In addition, he gave me an estimate and not a quote, which is useless, as with estimates, there could be some nasty surprises added on. I suppose he could not give me a proper quote, since he did not measure the room for the room lining...

Getting rid of stippling on ceilings

Thinking it over, perhaps I might be better off having the ceiling plastered over. It might be safer and less expensive. I am looking at all the alternatives, but I cannot do the work myself, as I am hopeless at DIY.

Getting rid of stippling on ceilings

I am trying to get my living/dining room decorated and every decorator I have seen does not want to get rid of stippling. They suggest I get a plasterer in to replaster the ceiling instead. I know that there is a steaming method which appears to take some time, is messy and expensive and also...

    Condensation Advice

Hi Freddie. Do you think I should only go with the air brick work put in and not the insulation, or what that be a waste of time and money? Thanks.
