I've finally decided to get round to renovating my outside porch, it's got a lead roof which looks in good condition but over the years the wooden posts at either side have become wet and rotten.
I've started stripping the paint off using a heat gun and you can see over the years...
I've just built an extension off my dining room to be used as a summer room and my idea was to take the wall down between my dining room and kitchen to make a nice sociable living area for the family.
This wall that I intend to take down however has a chimney breast so it's going to be a big...
From the system above,
A is Upstairs heating
B is Downstairs heating
C is Underfloor heating
D is Hot water
E is Towel radiator and radiator in old airing cupboard
The system has been designed so that when anything calls for heat, some hot water will also be sent to towel radiator and...
He's a mate so doing it for free, I'll see him right though.
This puts me in the slightly uncomfortable position though of not wanting to tell him about the advice on this thread regarding the air vents above the door loops etc.
I just wanted to make sure he hasn't made any glaring mistakes...
I'm sure this is on the first picture on the top left, he said this was to reduce the cold water pressure.
Erm no.
I don't know why he's done it this way.
I don't think there are any air vents, should this have come with all my underfloor heating stuff?

The idea is the manifold would be mounted next to my boiler and cylinder in the garage and I could control each radiator individually from here.
I'm looking at replacing my central heating with part underfloor and part radiators, I think I'm using a company called Maincor for my underfloor heating but I was looking in their brochure and I'm interested in using a manifold to distribute water to each individual radiator.
Has anyone come...
Thanks for your reply Dave.
I'd be greatful if you can advise me to what you'd spec me up.
Also I will be going for underfloor heating, let me sum up my situation below, we will be living in this house for many years so initial cost isn't too much of an issue also my towel radiator is...
Our garage is single story but slopes with the main roof so that won't be a problem.
Thanks for your help, think you've answered everything, for now anyway
Hope your install goes smoothly.
We're having all new pipework, haven't thought about Magnaclean but probably not needed, might look at an anti limescal inhibitor as we live in an extremely hard water area but I don't know if they actually work yet.
Will your towel rail be piped in on the Central Heating circuit? Reason I...
Thanks joncox for the info :D , we have cavity wall insulation and loft insulation etc but bigger older houses can be just draughty.
Think I'll definately go for this setup with the VRC 430 situated in my hallway. Are you purchasing a VR65 aswell and putting TRV's on all your rads except the...
