I have a full set of FACOM tooling and am very pleased with them, well made, ergonomic and guaranteed, they're still quite pricey but you get what you pay for. You can't buy direct but there are a lot of suppliers out there.
Chrome plating is normally only a few microns thick on top of a base material. You can't really T-CUT it like you would on your car. Try getting it re-plated at a metal finishers.
Would not reccommend it, the forces required to cut metal are extremely high and requires both cutter and workpiece to be rigidly held. What's wrong with a good ol' hacksaw?
Turns out that the whole time I've had the car, the glowplugs weren't even connected so I've been starting it without them through the summer, now it's winter it got a little tricky hence the increasing problem over the last couple of weeks as the weather's got cooler. Doh!
Tested the glow plugs on the battery and they seemed fine. Tried towing it to garage and I stuck it in gear along the way and after 1/2 a mile it fired up and worked fine all day. Then same thing happened again, wouldn't start. Could it be a fuel blockage? :?:
Escort 1.8 LX Diesel. K reg.
Wouldn't start this morning. Was fine last night although has been difficult in the mornings for the last couple of weeks. Checked the glow plugs visually but do not seem too bad. What else is worth checking?
