    Re-claimed Shelving Unit?

I see. After asking for a bit more info on this, it appears that they got them from a second hand scaffold supplier. They are very cheap for what they are though, so although not practical it can still be done relatively easily. I am going to try it this weekend anyway, hopefully the outcome...

    Re-claimed Shelving Unit?

I am thinking about embarking on a new DIY project, in particular a re-claimed shelving unit which I came across (https://www.vital-parts.co.uk/diy-guide-re-claimed-scaffold-shelving-desk-unit-31-w.asp). It looks interesting as I have some of the parts lying around anyway (eg; Wooden boards...

Adding a thread to a wooden beam?

Yes I believe it would be vertically. I want it about 40mm deep, just enough for the fixing and the thread to pass through. I have come across this range and I think the E-Nuts may work best as they seem to have a longer thread - http://www.vital-parts.co.uk/furniture-fixings-408-c.asp

I would actually recommend some Metal machine feet, these come with fixing holes which allow you to fix it to the floor. They may not look too great in a kitchen, but im sure you can easily cover them up someway! Heres an example of what I mean -...

    Let's talk office/computer chairs

I'd actually recommend some Rubber or Plastic ferrules like these, fitted onto an office chair. This can help the grip, whilst stabilizing you at all times! Of course, this depends on the type of office chair you end up choosing as ones with wheels obviously wont work with ferrules.

    What are these called?

I wouldn't call them caps, rather fixings or a threaded buffer? Wouldn't something like this work? - http://www.vital-parts.co.uk/cone-shaped-e-nut-4826-p.asp I know that its not their main use, but wouldn't it still achieve the same finish? Although using these you will have to drill out the...

    Using adjustable feet

Hello, I am trying to make my desk more sturdy as the current feet are pretty wobbly and worn down, although I also would like to make the desk sit lower whilst I get the opportunity. (desk is made out of wood) Would the best option be to cut the leg to my desired height and then use...

Best way to add thread to a tube

The ones with ribs? Also should I go exact sizing or should I go for a size slightly smaller or larger than the tube to give myself a bit of room? Thanks.

Best way to add thread to a tube

Hello, I am trying to add a thread to a tube so that I can attach glides/machine feet, what would be the best product for the job? I have looked at a lot of options, with threaded tube inserts being one of the best looking and simple to fit. Examples of what i've currently looked at...
