    Window near soil pipe

It's a loft conversion in a semi detached with velux style windows front and back in the roof. The soil stack os a single stack and rises almost in the middle of the rear elevaltion between the two planned windows. I love the idea of fitting an AAV. I just don't see how to relieve any potential...

    Window near soil pipe

I see what you are saying but this would cap the vent pipe so I don't see where the open ventilation would be that is required by the regs.

    Window near soil pipe

That's the problem. The roof is no very high 2.5m internal with the purlin top edge being 1200mm above the floor. So to be 900mm above window would put the soil pipe above the ridge line.

    Blum hinges different drilling pattern

Thanks every one. Revelation to me that there is no standard pattern, as I said I am trying to get my head round kitchen fitting. Not a problem as I wanted to try out the Blum hinges before updating the kitchen so can dick about with the current units as trial and test units.

    Blum hinges different drilling pattern

Hi there. Recently have been trying to get my head around kitchen cabinet hinges. I have a cabinet door with some cheap hinges installed. I need the door to open further so bought a pair of Blum 170° hinges from Screwfix. Took the door off and trried to swap the hinges today but the Blum...

Thanks both. I was just looking for clarity on what the planner would define my proposal so I know what I need to include in any submissions.

    Definition of covered Way

Hi all could you help please. I was thinking of putting a storage area on the side of my house. It runs along the side from the front back to the side door, the size is approximately 7m x 2m. I was hoping to get it deemed as permitted development as a covered walkway so also not requiring...

    Hi Gloss kitchen cabinets

@JobAndKnock, thanks for the advice as I didn't know the options. The acrylic option looks very promising so will get some samples and decide.

    Hi Gloss kitchen cabinets

Hi there, I was hoping for some advice. I am looking for a very hi gloss white range of kitchen cabinets. The ones that I have seen in Wickes, B+Q, Magnet etc are shiny but you can still see the uneveness of the coating as if the coating is thin and the chipboard is showing through. I wondered...

    Discretely attaching ply to floorboards

I plan to lay a birch ply floor in my fitted wardrobes. The floor is uneven so will need to pack under the 18mm ply sheet. I would like to invisibly attach the sheet to the floor rather than screwing into place as if it was a MFC sheet. Also one corner end of the sheet will be over an old...

    Repair to drilled joists

Folks I need some advice. We have had some work done by a cowboy whilst I was out of the country and he will not be repairing the problem. Anyhow he has put the shower waste outlet through the joists of the bathroom. The joists are 170mm x 55mm and he has cut 61 mm holes in the upper third...

Insulating under the rafters and floor

Thanks for the reply FMT. I think that I am having a bit of a brain fart with this. I just want to check my understanding vs your expert advice. I was planning on hanging KingSpan under the rafters rather than in between them. Would I still need vents at ridge level as the 70mm gap...

Insulating under the rafters and floor

Folks, sorry if this has been covered but the advise given seems to contradict itself in places. Firstly I want to semi convert my loft so that it is more friendly for storage as we are moving the central heating boiler to the loft. The loft will not be a permanent room as we will not be...
