Hi all I hope you can help. I have an attached outbuilding that I wish to convert to a habitable area. The outbuilding is of a single leaf with a concrete floor.
The planned work is to fit an insulated floating floor with chipboard cover and kingspan insulted panels on the wall attached to battens.
Within the area I need to build a stud wall for the toilet. I have read here that I need to add a joist into the floor to hold the floor plate of the stud wall. Do I run the stud wall straight off the installed wall insulation or do I run the stud wall off the single leaf wall and fit the outer wall insulation in front of the wall anchor plate , as if it is a large batten.
I am asking as I thought the wall would flex if it connected to a floating floor and wall insulation.
TIA
