How to tighten toilet seat on this pan?!!

Thanks very much for you replies. I did not realise that there are now top fixings, I am bit of an old dynosaur (still have pump action screw drivers and copper pipe handy). FYI - I will spend some time designing the ultimate toilet seat hinge. Look out Branson and Dison, here I come! :-)

    Fan oven motor insulation

I have just fitted a new fan oven motor to my hotpoint double oven, a BD31. The new one was almost identical to the old except that it had a fan on both sides; on on the motor and the other inside the oven. I purchased the new fan from partmaster where some fans motor descriptions...

fitting fluidmaster cable flush valve to a low level cistern

I have issues with the lever version as the half flush sometime is restricted by the overhand of the cistern lid. So I have to fit it in a 45 degree position. Any tips? I prefer the lever flush as it does not put too much pressure on flimsy cisterns. Thanks the for link.

fitting fluidmaster cable flush valve to a low level cistern

Thanks. The hep20 washer tip is a great one. I will try it. I've always added a flexible tap connector with an isolator to each inlet valve that I change. I have come across so much cross threading and ptfe taps fixes. Thanks again.

Hi, I have been asked by a letting agent to tidy up some work that a tenant has performed on a kitchen worktop end. Typically it was done by a man in a rush so the jigsaw cut waving all over the place, face edge looks OK. There is no power in the property so I thought I could tidy it up...

Thanks Meldrew4291, I did not realise that the frame had been fitted inside out. Here is a picture of the bottom shoot bolt. Not as clear as the image of the top one. Can you see any adjustment? Nigel T

uPVC door. Is there any adjustment possible here?

I have a customer with a door that does not close properly and the bottom bolt, when unlocked, catches its keep situated on the bottom of the frame. The catch does not enter the keep at all, too far away but it is lined up. The bottom bolt loosely hangs out of the bottom which also catches...

Adjustment of uPVC windows and doors

Hi, I have been asked to see if I can reduce the gap on only the hinge side of the window shown in the images. I have looked at previous posts which leads me to believe that I need to replace the hinges or the windows. Is this correct, should I replace them? Or should I attempt to free...
