    Skimming help

I would use joint filler which is what they use fro dry lining a ten kilo dag is about £10. I fill slightly proud wait an hour and then shave it flat. When it dries out it is really easy to rub down and you get a really smooth finish. I done it a lot for clients who dont want to pay for a...

    Painting yellowed skirting

I agree with pigeon. Oil based white will yellow over time but is more durable than acrylic so if the skirting is not going to get abused you could go for that and acrylic tends to dry faster.

Blimey - this or a brush at a fiver....

I tried a mini roller with an emulsion head the other day and it worked really well. No hairs from the brush which can happen even with the best. and no paste on the table as I had the next sheets waiting underneath... Not sure if it saved a lot of time but I think there was a more even spread.

He is using large tile which I suspect are flooring Tiles they are about 9" X 18". He doesn't want to use spacers. My idea is that you should do so as the grout...

How Solid Is an External Door

I didn't put any price limit on it just the style which appears to be known as colonial. Interesting that dowelled joints make little difference. Thanks

How Solid Is an External Door

I've been looking for a front door for a client. They want a solid hardwood colonial style door for me to paint. It seems that "Solid" doesn't actually mean one type of wood and in fact most seem to be veneered. As the door will have to be trimmed by half an inch I am worried that there wont be...
