Need to paint my son's room and when I have removed the border previously fitted it has taken off the paint back to plaster. Guessing when I reaping this will leave an edge. How do i avoid this, is there a thickish paint or filler you can suggest?

Bulbs mount vertically up, ie screw at the bottom. Certainly was aware of crappy fittings so went expensive fittings when we changed ( i think about £60 each for what is quite a simple lamp). I even pulled up the contact before installation as this solved the bulbs blowing in a previous house...
