Could somebody tell me if there is a regulation, best practice or perhaps preferred method to complete the following.

Sink waste 40mm white pipe exits into side passage of house and must travel five foot horizontally and three foot vertically down to drain. Not sure how to run the pipe work to look/ work best, seems I have three options:-

1. Diagonally down on the gradient 3 foot over 5 foot
2. Horizontally 5 foot observing correct minimum fall followed by vertical 3 foot section
1. Vertically 3 foot followed by a horizontal 5 foot with correct minimum fall.

Any thoughts welcomed, thanks

I'd take the shortest route, less obtrusive, one less bend to negotiate if it ever bungs up and less pipework to freeze in the colder months.
