I have a key meter for the eletric, about a month ago i noticed the display saying how much you have left ect was off. so rang them up saying bla bla .. they sed ring back when eletric goes off.. as cant get a engineer out till then.. its been a month now and i know for deff if it had been...

what size are the rafters..?

should of put 4x2 battens on the joists, ( not directly along a joist, but opposit angles..ie like a cross.)

4x2 dont sound big enough..to me.. I used to use 6x2.. stop the floor bouncing when your walking around.. reguards with the overlap, I used to use 6" nails..( nothing was said by the b.i ) the steel dont have to be the same height as the load bearing wall,, just use joist hangers..

you will need to put a staircase in as well ( if you're doing it by the regs )
