I was told you have to wait three days before grouting when you tile over existing tiles.......is this the case? If so why? Also do i need to use any bonding agent on the tiles to be tiled over or special adhesive? :?

I just lowered a ceiling using plasterboard I had intended filling the joints with an appropriate filler. I realise now that i have used the wrong side of the board, i used the side that should be used for applying a skim when i should have used the drywall side. I don't want to plaster it...

Installing an electric oven in new kitchen the last owner had a gas oven so their is no socket of any kind to wire my electric one. Can anyone tell me the correct method of wiring to accomidate an electric oven......strengh of cable, fuse box? etc. Thanks.

Update on the flush lighting......both ceilings lowered and flush lighting installed.......Im Still white as snow........avoided any toasting....light or otherwise lol. :wink:

For ten quid you can get a tub of pollyfila fine at your local B&Q whack some of this into the cracks, holes, or whatever and it rubs off easily with no sweat using fine sandpaper......leaves a nice finish that you can paint over with your textured paint, some textured paints paint over...

Taking on board what Mille - Boy above said and paying all due attention to safety I think i will give this option a try breezer it seems fairly simple from what you say here. When i do go to buy the low voltage lights i`ll ask the in-store electrician for advice on what lights are easiest to do...

Thanks to everyone for pointing out all the pitfalls (and expense) involved in my now aborted plan to relocate my combi boiler. Im thinking some well ventilated nice teak wood cabinet would be the best bet. Again thanks for the input guys. As i've a lot of work to do in the new house you will...

I cant say i did consider the full implications, reason being i didnt have a clue as to what these implications were, hence the post. I did consider camouflaging the boiler behind some sort of cabinet but it would have to fit with the decor of the room and as im going to be using it as a dining...
