electric oven

Installing an electric oven in new kitchen the last owner had a gas oven so their is no socket of any kind to wire my electric one. Can anyone tell me the correct method of wiring to accomidate an electric oven......strengh of cable, fuse box? etc. Thanks.

ovens usually just plug in via an ordainairy socket (depending on rating of course)

its the electric hobs you have to "worry" about

Thanks for the reply breezer the reason i asked was in my last home i had an electric cooker and it wired into a box with a red light on marked cooker with a on/off switch...i just took it to be this electric oven would be the same....Its 240 V 2400 watt (it says on the box) So will this be ok for an ordinary everyday socket? Thanks in advance

yes that is fine (up to 3000 watts) as yours is only 2400 watts

as i did mention its the electric hobs that draw a lot of current
