    corrosion on wheelarch

Thanks for info. I take the point of stripping/painting. I do not think the results will be good, and should be hidden. Probably needs a plastic L-shaped extrusion approx. 20mm x 20mm so that ledge is completely hidden. Preferably one leg self-adhesive. Internet offers all seem to be vague...

    Electrolux internal water leak

Have traced water leak at short hose from sump to pump. Not easy to see exactly what is happening, but the hose has only one hose clip ( at pump end) Surely there should also be a clip at sump?

    dishwasher - wet electrics

My semi integrated Electrolux ESI 63010 trips the circuit breaker when close to end of cycle. It will only restart after a day or so drying (?), but will usually trip again during first or second use. I have found some water on floor of pump/ heating chamber, but cannot work out where it is...

    Throttle cleaning

My petrol Y-reg Honda Accord v-type occasionally suffers from a slight hesitation when pulling away from rest when hot. According to gauge, it never overheats. Car is otherwise faultless and low mileage (70K). I always use premium unleaded. I have been advised to 'clean the throttle'. but I...

    Bricks for house

My house was a one-off build in 1990- designed by local architect and built by small local builder. I believe bricks are engineering or semi-engineering ( of normal brick colour). Why should these have been used?

deterioration of 'coal' in living flame gas fires

Thanks for replies. We will replace the fires as part of renovation. The Boss has reviwed all the replies and decided we will have 'coal' again and, over time will decide if we like battered coal or if we replace/repaint. Regards

Thanks- four interesting perspectives. Does anyone know if the 'pebbles' discolour/deteriorate?

deterioration of 'coal' in living flame gas fires

I have two of these fires, both ten years old ( one valor, one cozyfire) I understand they have only been used for about 10 evenings per year. However, on both fires, the coals have discoloured to a rather unpleasant brown/grey effect with some white patches. If we replace with new 2011...
