Yes, its definately worth the effort to do a mistcoat, specially if you dont want any comebacks. The Mistcoat seals the plaster ready to take the proper coats.

Sounds like PVA runs, brush over with some diluted oilbase undercoat, but if some of the long runs have blobs or heads on the end, you would have to scrape them off, or give a rub down After oilbase UC is dry, emulsion as normal, the stains wont bleed through. :D .

Good tips there, also if it is a drop pattern,( you can lose a lot of inches with a drop pattern) then it might pay you to work of 3 rolls at a time, there is less wastage that way.
