Majority if not all music producers use a MAC, for everything else windows suits me fine
I still think that every PC should be backed up, the whole C drive that is, Ghost and Acronis save this backup as 1 file, imho thats when anyone gets a virus/malware or even lag they should go back to a clean fresh install, then this thread would not exist!!!!

Just don't expect the sound card to be upgradeable, nor the graphics card.
You'll be stuck with whatever Apple decide your Mac comes with.
In the early 90's the industry standard computer for music producers was the Atari ST (and was through to around 2000) Running Cubase or Steinberg Pro.

I have an old Atari 520ST sitting in my wardrobe in pristine condition. Can't beat the Little Green Desktop!
It's an argument that is regularly brought up, but I wouldn't say that. Linux is used widely to provide web services. Hackers would have far more fame if they discovered crippling exploits in something like Apache.

Good point, maybe the latest MAC tower would suffice then scary price though!!!
Shame that higher cost doesn't always mean better quality. Like in the case of Apple hardware.
