Hi All
Just wondered if somebody could give me some help.

I am wanting to put some out door lights on the house. I have an idea but want to check if is correct.
I want to put some lights either side of the garage, on the internal wall there are two plug sockets. Can I wire the lights into a plug then plug these in to the the plug sockets for a source of power. I was wanting to put these on a timer so I thought I would use a plug in timer so we can change when the lights come on through out the year.
Thanks

Andrew

You can do that, I would fuse the plug down from 13A to 3A though!
You could also consider dusk till dawn lighting, that can operate at different variations of natural darkness.

Thanks for the reply. I will have a look at the dusk till dawn lighting too. Thanks

No - please don't have cables coming through the wall with plugs on, going to sockets - that's just nasty.

Wire them permanently into FCUs.
