2 x 16 amp kitchen appliance on one 32amp mcb?

That is completely unnecessary. The appliances should have their own internal protection. Yet another example of manufacturers who don't know what they are talking about. Just as well you are NOT required to follow manufacturers instructions, especially when they are wrong.

I only picked the microwave up yesterday and checked.. it does state it should be fused with a 16 amp.
Does it actually say it must have a 16A fuse or does it say it should go on a 16A circuit - as in Europe.

We don't have 16A fuses.

Also as my mains consumer unit does not have rcd protection should the mini unit I purchase have rcd protection ?
Appliances are never required to have RCD protection.

RCD protection is required for buried cable and sockets - for hand-held tools for the protection of people.

So you think it is acceptable just to run 2.5mm t&e from each of the 2 appliances direct to cooker switch and then 6mm t&e to the 32 amp mcb on mains unit?

Thanks

I'm wondering if I've read it wrong and it's referring to it having its own 16amp internal fuse.

The microwave is this

Zanussi ZKG44500XA

The oven is this

Zanussi ZOP38903XD

Ah, ok. What is the rating - wattage - of the microwave?

Looking on zanussi website it says microwave is total electricity loading is 2000w and then says required fuse 16amp

The oven says total loading is 3480w
But doesn't state required fuse

I have AEG ovens. It's all Electrolux group, same as zanussi. The instructions are awful. One of them doesn't even mention power or electrical connection at all.

Both of mine are wired in 2.5 mm into an outlet which is fed in 6mm from a 32A RCBO.

It's perfectly safe, and there are thousands of ovens wired this way around the country. Stop over thinking it!!
