Accenta 8 mini engineer code and service

Moved into house and have the normal code for the alarm. Previous owner had the alarm serviced every year, its only an audible alarm not linked to anywhere else.

Questions are:

1) Do I need the alarm serviced every year (never had an alarm in home before)

2) If I chose not to have it serviced I would like the engineering code which the local firm must have as they have carried out all the services previously, surely they cant charge me for this.

Depends on your insurance and Yes they can , best bet is have a service and ask for it to be changed to a code of your choice at the service, all liability would then fall on you after this ...

Bit off topic but do know if you can set up and alarm like this for external door sensors only to be active. We have 4 external doors that have the switch for the alarm at the the top and ideally would be good to set just these when we leave the dog at home. Suppose could find out during the service but thought I would ask.

Yes depending on what part sets you use at the moment.
