Hello, not long moved house. I took down the shed the other day and noticed there was power going to it. In the fuse box there was a switch labelled 'garage', and this was feeding the power to the shed. I turned it off, to make it safe as its not needed now. But later, i noted no hot water in the house. The switch i turned off also powered the boiler. I have no clue with electrics, but this doesnt seem quite rite. Ive since turned this switch on to power the boiler. I now have a live cable, wired into a terminating block outside which is housed in a plastic pipe. The cable goes under the slabs in the garden.

Im concerned. I guess i want to remove the feed to the shed altogether. Can i get away with it being terminated in a block ? This is electrics, im guessing not. Is there any issues having the one switch powering the boiler and the external cable?

As you do not need to power to the shed anymore its best getting an electrician in to find where the shed is being fed from. It's possibly being fed directly from the mcb/fuse or maybe spurred off from the boiler socket, but they can investigate and remove the feed to the shed and that fuse can be relabelled for the boiler (assuming nothing else is wired into this circuit).

As above. If you can't locate the origin in the house, get a sparky to.

You or a loved ones lives, or 30 mins of a good spark who will probably have a reasonable charge of minimum 1 hours pay.

Likely supplied from something like this

have you found any where the cable likely enters the house?
