Hi, I am looking for advice regarding garden lighting to illuminate trees and bushes at the end of my garden some 25 meters from the house. I am not too certain of using mains voltages in the garden and would prefer not to go this route.
I have searched for suitable products with not much luck so am considering using 4, 12 volt LED work lamps that I already have (much like these http://www.curtisinst.co.uk/files/3114/1580/7515/50212_LEDLamp_RevB.pdf ) and need some advice for a suitable transformer to mount to the house and low voltage cable to the lamps. The lamps I have draw a current of 1 Amp ( 12 volt) per lamp.
I am unsure of the voltage drop and size of cable required and a supplier of transformer, any ideas please?
Thanks, Steve

If Low Voltage is 0-1000V AC, what term would you like to use for anything other than 240V?
I would think the only sure way to get what you want, or so that people know what you mean, is to use the actual voltage.

Will this work in my house? It's low voltage. - Pretty meaningless.

Given the distance, I would suggest running a mains supply and having the transformer (suitably enclosed) close to the lights.

He needs a DC power supply not a transformer, but, yes close to the lights is a good idea.
My garden lights have a 12v Transformer (it's written on the lid) and they are working ?
