Can eaves protectors be installed by a typical DIYer?

There are many threads here regarding the installation of eaves protectors. And several videos on line. Just push back a few tile and hey presto!

But what happens at the ends of the fascias? They never deal with the ends. One end might be flashed against another wall, and the other end is the end of the roof. Those tiles are mortared /clipped into place. There might also be a valley gutter next to a Dormer window. That's all getting a bit more difficult

Can a competent but not roof experienced DIYer put in eaves protectors? Or is it a professional's job?

Bump as just about to order supplies, including wooden battens (thanks @catlad ). Will exclude eves protectors as it seems too hard...

not sure what problem you're envsaging. do you mean you're installing eaves trays to support the felt into the gutter, or something else?
If the issue is removing tiles which are mortared in, just break the mortar and chip it off, then bed the tiles again afterwards.

Far from easy on a slate or plain tile roof

Well yes. There is a Marley Modern tiled roof. One end is the end gable and the other is lead flashed against other masonry. At another area, there is a valley with one of those GRP valley trays. To go full width with the eaves trays, I'd need to re point and what about the valley and flashed area? Can the lead be lifted sufficiently to get the tile out? Can the lead crack? I'm a bit scared of making a mistake that will lead to leaks and being killed by my sister.

The two houses next to hers (same condition) have been over clad without any eaves trays installed. The felt was just cut off along the ex.facia edge and the new gutter positioned under the tile edges. Are trays common/necessary or are they simply OTT and not really needed? Yes the end of her felt is perished, but no leaks into the house so far.

I just wonder when I watch those YouTube vids whether the companies are just milking it? No disrespect
