Maybe, if they are fitting a smart meter they may do it for free, try asking.... :)

It is not mine. There is gas heating which looks like it has been there a long time. The place is being rewired and obviously this mess of dangerous junk thrown out.

I think they would for free as they want to install these awful snooping Big Brother devices everywhere. If you say "no" to a smart meter? They would probably charge. Worth asking.

The installation is dangerous. A child could pull these loose heavy cables. It is disgusting that anyone can leave cables like that. Just about everything about this installation is bad. But this is cowboy Britain.

It’s not dangerous.
It’s a lovely useful installation.

Put it in a cupboard if you are worried.

It is dangerous with loose cables all over. It is already in a cupboard. This is how it should be - professional.

You can go back and line those lid screws up for starters :)

And the left-hand trunking doesn't go up to the ceiling and there's no firestopping around those cables.

I am with you here. Those screw slots should have been lined up north-south. Terrible workmanship for sure. :) There is a cupboard above the one you see with the meter in.

Two wrongs do make a right. Do it professionally. Rid yourself of this this cowboy mentality. Think professional.
Look at the difference between the professional installation and cowboy one. If you cannot tell the difference you should not be in the electrical business.

I'm not in the electrical business. A cowboy is a man who rounds up cattle on horseback, they don't do electrical installations.

Your installation has no bare copper showing or insulation missing, and is typical of millions of installations. I have never seen anything like your picture of what you refer to as a professional installation in a domestic property.
