Its the electric cable going into the top of the shower in the bathroom

It's impossible to say from the internet but if the cable is sound then I wouldn't think there is anything to worry about.

Having said that, it's just so badly done that anything could be wrong.

You can tell that from the silicone alone.

I going to ask, is the picture upside down? Apparently not!

Does the grey cable actually go into the shower at the top? Or the side? Or the bottom?
 
Can you see the manufacturers name? Are there model details anywhere, perhaps underneath? Personally, I don’t like the quality (lack of) of workmanship which leads me to believe that its not safe.

However, it is hard to give a definite answer.

Many showers are designed to accept pipes and cables entering through the top (or bottom) - they are designed in such a way that water will run straight down through, so the water doesn't get to where the electrical connections are.

But it's hard to say if yours is ok, a picture of inside ONCE THE ELECTRICITY HAS BEEN SAFELY AND CORRECTLY ISOLATED may, may help.

Me asking for the make and model in order to get the manufacturers instructions is not helpful?
